Bios About DBM About About Palmer & Associates

Brenda E. Palmer

Brenda E. Palmer has over 30 years experience in human resource management, career transition counselling, and executive search. Following a successful early career as a Human Resources professional she advanced to senior management roles with two Canadian executive search firms. 15 years ago she started her own executive search firm, Palmer & Associates, which has offices in Kingston and Ottawa. Her clients range from large multinational corporations to small entrepreneurial organizations. She holds a Certified Human Resources Professional designation.

Brenda and her firm have two divisions and work at both ends of the employment spectrum. First, as a business partner of DBM Canada, she deals with career transition services/outplacement counselling and organizational change. In this role she is called upon to act as a career coach through one-on-one consultations, terminations, as well as delivering workshops and seminars. Secondly, she assists senior management in client companies to identify the requirements and skill sets that are desired for new hires, and then guides clients and candidates through the selection process.

In her professional role of connecting people and organizations, Brenda has also been instrumental in founding several highly successful networking groups for local business leaders and professionals. She currently serves as a director on two boards — the Human Resources Association and the Kingston General Hospital Foundation — as well as co-chair of Maritime Fest (a black tie community fundraiser). Brenda lectures at CFB Kingston to senior officers, Royal Military College, Queen’s University, and community groups.
