Reporting to: Chief Technology Officer

Reporting to the Chief Technology Officer, this is a leadership position with overall responsibility for the management of all development programs including the management of internal and external resources for successful program delivery.
Main Job Tasks and Responsibilities
· Detail management of development programs, resources and deliverables
· Develop and recommend policies, methods procedures and practices for optimal resource utilization and successful program delivery
· Assist the CTO and Marketing team in the preparation of project plans, resource allocation, budgets and revision of Gate 1 product requirement specifications
· Manage pre-Gate 1 activities and resources utilization within the approved Gate 0 budget
· Track individual projects for compliance with Gate 1 specifications, budget and timelines (performance reporting) to Gate 2 and Gate 3 including DVT (Design Verification Test) Documentation and Certifications.
· Report on the impact of changing priorities and propose alternatives for reassigning and/or complementing resources
· Plan for contingencies and implement the corresponding back-up plans when needed
· Manage product maintenance activities and corresponding resource allocation required for minor customizations and bug/enhancement tracking and resolution of all released products (devices and software)
Education and Experience
P. Eng designation
5–10 years experience in Engineering with direct experience in software product development environments and program management
Demonstrated experience in all aspects of new product development including mechanical, electronic, firmware and software design, prototype development, DVT and compliance testing
Demonstrated experience in product manufacturability and deployment including manufacturing test for hardware products and configurability for software deployments
Good understanding of the IT challenges and software architectures that would be employed in a utility environment
