Operations Engineer

Our client, a local mid-sized manufacturing company, is seeking an Operations Engineer to support their manufacturing operation. Reporting to the Engineering/Operational Excellence Manager, this role will lead and support multiple projects and function as a technical resource to the Operations Manager and Production teams.

The Operations Engineer will provide Marketing with product and process capability information, troubleshoot production problems, analyze production processes and recommend improvements.

Major Responsibilities

Interface with R&D, marketing, customers, and vendors to discover and test new raw materials or production processes with the intent of improving performance or quality, reducing cost, and improving uptime;

Ensure compatibility between process capability and finished product specifications;

Ensure compliance with Safety, Environmental and Quality Assurance Programs (i.e. participate in Safety/Environmental Programs and Quality initiatives);

Perform trouble shooting of manufacturing processes;

The Ideal Candidate Will Have

Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering

3 – 5 years manufacturing experience

Preferred Skills and Competencies

Good mechanical and electrical aptitude; understands automation principles and concepts;

Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, Access, AutoCAD/Solid Edge 3D modeling;

Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma;

General understanding of ISO and FDA requirements and sample plans an asset.
