Controller

Our client, a successful mid-sized manufacturing company, is seeking a leader with proven financial, strategic and operational leadership experience to oversee all company financial activities. Key member of the leadership team. Reports to the Plant Manager.

As financial leader for the organization, you will direct the annual budget process and monthly preparation and analysis of financial statements and forecasts, ensuring timely reported results. You will participate in strategic decision-making and oversee the financial operations to ensure achievement of financial targets. You will be a thought leader and agent for change, recommending improvements to systems and financial performance.



Major Responsibilities:

Direct General Accounting, Cost Accounting, and Payroll.

Develop, and issue timely monthly financial records for Plant Manager.

Ensure financial plans and forecasting are consistent with organizational goals; provide financial analysis to drive sound decision making.

Monitor and report on results to ensure that financial results effectively support business strategy.

Report and interpret monthly results including financial variances, cost reduction program and KPIs.

Prepare annual financial statements.

Develop and maintain sound financial/accounting policies, procedures and systems.

Coach and develop a team of direct reports ensuring that the team has the appropriate skills/resources to be effective.



Education and Experience:

Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree and professional accounting designation.

Minimum 10+ years’ experience in a senior financial position in manufacturing environments.

Proven experience in high level financial planning and analysis.

Strong business acumen, proven reliability.

Ability to lead change, strong interpersonal and communication skills, able to develop, mentor and motivate a staff team; good organizational skills.

Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills and strong attention to detail.

Effective presentation skills; ability to provide a collaborative/consultative approach in delivering ideas, solutions and results to senior management.

Desire to build and maintain good working relationships at all levels of the organization.
