Quality Coordinator – Brockville

Our client, a successful mid-sized manufacturing company in Brockville, has an opening for a Health, Safety, Environment and Quality Coordinator. Our client is a global company that provides solutions for clean fuel production, chemical recycling of plastics, and water treatment. This position reports to the General Manager.

Core Responsibilities:

Plans, directs, and coordinates HSEQ activities by working with various departments under GM direction.

Maintains, implements, and further develops Axens’ Integrated Management System and incident reporting and corrective/preventive action systems.

Refines existing and develops new risk assessments for the operations, develops and implements risk mitigation processes based on priority.

Develops, implements, and delivers training programs for relevant HSEQ aspects including fork truck operation, lockout-tag-out and individual hazard assessments.

Ensures required training is identified, developed, tracked, and recorded.

Conducts regular safety discussions/updates with all employees and contractors.

Acts as an HSEQ resource during planning, design, and implementation of new and modified equipment installations, conducts Hazard and Operability studies and pre-start reviews on new equipment installations.

Primary internal auditor for ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and ISO 45001 standards and drives the Supplier Audit and evaluation process that includes collecting customer feedback and tracking via the IMS database.

Monitors HSEQ programs to ensure compliance with federal, OHSA and ISO requirements. Ensures that HSEQ policies and procedures are in place to enhance processes.

Obtains relevant HSEQ best practices and shares with local businesses and other Axens sites.

Conducts audits/inspections & trains others on conducting such audits and inspections for company activities.

Maintains and optimizes a comprehensive incident investigation process and ensures corrective actions are implemented/documented/effective and are communicated to personnel as required.

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

Minimum of a college diploma in Safety, Environmental Management and/or Quality Management.

3–5 years of Health & Safety, and/or Quality experience within a manufacturing environment.

Canadian Registered Safety Professional designation or international equivalent.

ISO Auditor Certifications (ISO 9001:2015, 14001:2015 and/or 45001:2018) and auditor experience.

Continuous Improvement and Lean/Six Sigma training is considered an asset.

Capabilities in providing training, developing local champions, and cultivating strong morale.

Possesses strong analytical competencies and excellent attention to detail.

Demonstrates strong organizational and time management skills with a proven ability to be self-directed.
