Laboratory Assistant (Manufacturing)

Our client, a successful mid-sized manufacturing company in Brockville, has an immediate opening. Axens Solutions is a global company that produces catalysts and absorbents for the purification and the conversion of oil and biomass to cleaner fuels. Role report to a Quality Supervisor.

Core Responsibilities:

Ensure adherence to and promotes company HSE safety standards, policies and procedures.

Retrieve production samples from plant.

Operate equipment safely and according to the analytical procedures.

Create, investigate and verify results.

Ensure results are timely and pertinent – report any deviation for process adjustments.

Review laboratory data for accuracy and trends, communicate with appropriate parties.

Prioritize testing based on business needs.

Perform regular equipment maintenance to ensure production quality.

Contribute to waste management programs.

Identify and report unsafe operations to Supervisor immediately.

Recommend process improvements to enhance operational efficiency and safety.

Work with production personnel to identify, investigate and resolve process discrepancies.

Ensure equipment and devices are maintained in good and safe working conditions.

Revise and update SOP’s to meet growing business and customer needs.

Maintain complete and accurate records of laboratory data.

Support various collaborative, highly functioning department teams.

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

Exposure to chemistry at a post-secondary level and/or previous experience in a QA laboratory.

2+ years’ experience in manufacturing operations.

Previous training in safe handling of chemicals.

Valid driver’s licence.

Strong organization skills, accurate record keeping and ability to manage multiple priorities.
