Millwright – Brockville

Our Brockville client has an immediate opening for a Millwright.

Successful candidate is responsible for the continuous, safe operation of plant mechanical equipment in a 24 hour per day, 7 days per week production environment. Interesting role.

Read blueprints, diagrams, and schematic drawings to determine work procedures.

Install, align, dismantle, and move industrial machinery and mechanical equipment.

Operate hoisting and lifting devices.

Generate and complete work orders using a CMMS system.

Inspect and examine machinery to detect irregularities and malfunctions.

Adjust machinery and repair or replace defective parts.

Clean, lubricate and perform other routine maintenance work.

Assemble machinery and equipment prior to installation using hand tools, power tools and welding equipment.

Mandatory on call once every 3 weeks for 7 days at a time to respond to breakdowns within a reasonable amount of time. This frequency may vary depending on manpower availability.

Provide assistance to the Electricians and Engineers.

Involvement in design and implementation of equipment modifications to improve function and/or reliability including modification or mechanical components

Responsible for safe and efficient operation of natural gas burners. Certified training will be provided.

Follow guidelines with respects to Lock-Out, Tag-Out policies, risk assessment/procedures.

Follow guidelines with respects to Confined Space, qualified training and PPE provided.

Assist with building maintenance repairs.

Education and Experience:

Qualified Millwright Certificate.

Minimum 3+ years of plant maintenance experience.

Welding experience considered an asset.

Additional Skills:

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating maintenance instruction and procedure manuals.

Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.

Ability to communicate effectively with other employees.

Self-directed, self-starter with ability to work with minimum supervision.
