Senior Director, Engineering & Technical (Manufacturing)

Our client, a successful Eastern Ontario based company, is a leader in the design and manufacturing of specialty products that are used around the world by rescue, military, and commercial clients. This leadership position has a unique, exciting, and pivotal role in the organization and will be relied upon to help support continued growth through organizational strategy and product development, continuous improvement in the manufacturing processes and the creation of the physical infrastructure capacity that will be required to support growth.

This newly created role requires a professional with both demonstrated and sophisticated technical engineering skills, a collaborative and mentoring style and the experience supporting professional teams in a matrix environment. He/she will also be capable of understanding and anticipating future manufacturing challenges.
The successful candidate will help lead, while maintaining a respect for the capabilities of an already high performing team and the ability to become a cohesive and productive part of the senior leadership team. The role will have direct matrix responsibilities for several other departments (maintenance, facilities, properties), and Compliance Program management, Capital and Project management, Security Program and Controlled Goods Program.
Reports directly to the President and is part of the senior leadership team.

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in engineering or a related field and a P.Eng.

10+ years’ experience in technical and engineering manufacturing management.

Excellent project management skills, including the ability to manage multiple projects concurrently. Formal project qualifications an asset.

Strong analytic and problem-solving abilities and excellent communication skills.

Experience with regulatory agencies including MECP, NRC-ERD, MOL, WSIB, and Health Canada, etc.

Commitment to Safety, Quality, and Continuous Improvement, LEAN, TPM, or Six Sigma.
