Role

The COO will have full leadership responsibility for the entire operation and execution of the Club’s strategic direction. He/she reports to the President and Board of Directors and is supported by an experienced professional Senior Management Team. The Club employs a capable, friendly staff of 80 who proudly serve a membership of approximately 1,000 across four seasons.

The COO is envisioned to act as the Club’s Ambassador and representative marketing the club within the community and at The Canadian Society of Club Manager’s activities.



Duties

Works closely with the President and Board of Directors to ensure responsible and focused governance, processes/practices, smooth day-to-day operations and adherence to short/long term goals.

Ensures high standards of quality, service and member satisfaction.

Closely collaborates with Operating and Board Committees.

Develops and closely monitors annual budgets; manages facilities, course/ice conditions and capital projects.

Continually stays current on progressive management developments within the private club industry and ensures the Board and Senior Management Team are informed of how such changes can enhance Club performance.

Directs the strategic planning process in conjunction with the Board.

Oversees creative, innovative promotions and communications.

Proactively develops strategies related to the attraction and retention of members.

Maintains a high-level of presence at the Club during regular and special events, becoming well known and highly approachable to staff, members and guests.

He/she will possess strong communication skills, a knowledge of the private club industry, as well as dedication to operate at the highest levels of efficiency, trust and integrity. Also, a commitment to instill these values/guiding principles and operating standards in others.



Qualifications/Attributes

10+ years experience in the club or hospitality industry; five years in an executive role

Degree and/or CCM/CCE designation preferred

Progressive leader with a strategic mindset; demonstrated ability to execute with a collaborative approach

Proficient computer and analytical skills

Strong relationship and team builder

Supportive professional with strong interpersonal skills and a passion for excellence
